Snow Day

Well, we thought we had left all the bad weather behind in Oregon, or that it had blown itself out while we were there for Christmas. Wrong! Mother Nature had other plans for us. We had one day of beautiful snowfall, along with no school, and we had a blast! Then came a bit of freezing rain for the even colder nighttime temperatures, and wham! We were iced in at home for the next five days. Everything was shut down or cancelled, we didn't go anywhere. I am so GRATEFUL (that's for Mom) that we went grocery shopping the day before the snow fell. Nobody ever wants milk until you don't have any. Very happy to have been prepared. Thankfully we were never without electricity. We've got a gas stove/oven for cooking, so no problem there, but the heater is central through the house and all electric. We had one night last winter without heat and it wasn't cool. (HA HA, sorry!) Anyway, a great time for a rare event in North Carolina.
